About Us

Our Story

Established in 1992, Aniniwah Medical Centre (AMC) is a trusted medical facility with extensive experience in healthcare delivery. Incorporated as a limited liability company in 2004, AMC is authorized to engage in medical practice and holds a registration of 100,000,000 ordinary shares. Led by a seasoned Board with overall responsibility for hospital management, including the renowned Dr. Emmanuel Tuffuor as Chairman, AMC benefits from over 40 years of healthcare expertise. With a combined leadership experience of 60 years, AMC has achieved remarkable success over the past 30 years.

Over these years the hospital has served as a major impactful investment in an area where there were no health services and transforming the economic wellbeing of the immediate catchment area and today AMC has come of age to become a brand. Our experience and understanding of sustainability dynamics of healthcare in Ghana have brought us to the stage now where we are carefully looking for a strategic partner to jointly take advantage of the huge medical investment opportunities that exist in Ghana and The West African sub-Region.

CORE VALUES AND BUSINESS PRINCIPLES

The attainment of the above vision shall be based on the relentless pursuit of the following Core Values and Business Principles:
  • Integrity: Total individual and organization commitment to professional, medical and ethical standards that assure UTMOST SATISFACTION FOR ALL CLIENTS, without the least exception, shall be fostered. Every employee shall, in all honest and as far as possible, commit himself to ensuring that each client receives the most convenient, courteous, competitive and cost-effective care possible at AMC. The relentless pursuit of the client’s interest shall be coupled with a sincere commitment to satisfying employee, investor, societal and other legitimate stakeholder interests.
  • Sensitivity: AMC recognizes EVERYONE; first, as a human person and as such every member of staff is expected to appreciate the individuality of each client, other members of staff and those of the public with his/her peculiar concerns, needs and dispositions. Personnel are therefore each required to respond accordingly with courtesy, empathy and sensibility to issues pertaining to ALL persons. AMC is further committed to contributing to the well-being of relevant identified groups such as the different social classes, communities, organizations, institutions and families targeted. Notably AMC aims, as much as possible, to make quality healthcare accessible to all on differentiated attractive and affordable terms. The Centre is further concerned with fostering, nurturing hand promoting the maintenance of best health, safety and environmentally friendly (HSE) policies and practices at AMC, among target communities, homes and organizations. This requires that all staff master the art of dealing with such a wide cross section of people tactfully and satisfactorily.

Clientele base

AMC currently has a large clientele base comprising families and individuals from Emena and its environs in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. About 80% of the patients served by AMC are from the Oforikrom and Asokwa Municipalities in the Ashanti Region of Ghana which have a mix of high, middle- and low-income families. It also attracts a considerable number of patients from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) community as well as other Constituencies in the Region. There is a recent surge in patients from Ejisu, whist over the years the hospital has attracted patients from Accra. The fact that AMC draws clientele from these areas in spite of availability of healthcare services in those areas attest to the brand of AMC and how dominant we can be with enhancement of services at AMC.  The clientele base of AMC also includes individual private clients after the hospital became listed as a service provider under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). The total daily attendance currently ranges between 200 and 250, making AMC one of the largest private healthcare facilities in Ghana. The Founder of AMC, Dr Tuffuor, currently residing in the US, is a pioneer in a unique healthcare financing program that gets Ghanaians in diaspora involved in the prepayment healthcare financing of relatives in Ghana. That has been a source of revenue for the hospital and soon to roll the program out.
